ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥-China ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Presidents Forum Delegation visits the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide
A high-level senior executive delegation comprising almost 50 representatives from 23 leading research-intensive Chinese universities recently visited the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide to learn more about the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥, and in particular, its research strengths in medicine and oenology.
The delegation, which included the Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥, and Vice-Presidents, Directors and Deputy Directors from prestigious institutions, heard presentations from Professor Jessica Gallagher, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (External Engagement), Professor Laura Parry, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Excellence), Division of Research and Innovation, Professor Christopher Sweeney, Director, South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n immunoGENomics Cancer Institute, and Professor Kerry Wilkinson, Professor of Oenology and Associate Head of School (Research), School of Agriculture, Food and Wine.
The program included a tour of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide’s North Terrace Campus and the South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Museum’s ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Aboriginal cultures gallery. The SA Museum tour was facilitated by Professor John Carty, Professor of Museum and Curatorial Studies at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide and Head of Humanities at the South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Museum.
The delegation was in Adelaide to meet with the Group of Eight (Go8) leadership at the 2024 ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥-China ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ President’s Forum. This was the first and largest Chinese university delegation to meet with Go8 leadership since COVID-19.
The President’s Forum was coordinated by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), a nationwide organisation with 1,212 Chinese member institutions supporting international educational exchanges and cooperation.
