  • Haide College

    Haide College campus

    Located in Qingdao, China,is a joint education institute from the Ӱֱ of Adelaide and Ocean Ӱֱ of China. Delivering comprehensive joint degrees in mathematics, biotechnology, and food science and engineering, Haide College offers students access to a global education with a deeper, more nuanced understanding of their disciplines, better intercultural communication skills, and international connections that will facilitate their future careers.

    The Ӱֱ of Adelaide has a long-standing partnership withShanghai Jiao Tong Ӱֱ (SJTU), with established collaborations including joint professional appointments, a staff exchange agreement, adual master’s programin winemaking and viticulture, and a joint PhD agreement.

    The two institutes have also established multiple joint research centres, including the. Since 2019, Ӱֱ of Adelaide researchers have also co-authored over 470 research publications with SJTU.

  • New Colombo Plan scholars

    TheNew Colombo Planis an initiative of the Ӱֱn Government to improve knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Ӱֱ by helping Ӱֱn undergraduate students study and undertake internships in the region.The Ӱֱ of Adelaide has had a number of New Colombo Plan scholars in recent years, includingRhys Gaylard(Yonsei Ӱֱ, South Korea),Selina Tran(National Taiwan Ӱֱ, Taiwan),Judah Tan(Ӱֱ of Tokyo, Japan) andJocelyn Lee(Yonsei Ӱֱ).

    Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences building

    Ӱֱ of Adelaide experts have delivered theworld’s firstremote sinus surgical training to surgeons in Japan. The course was conducted remotely, which allowed Ӱֱ of Adelaide professors to directly supervise Japanese surgeons from their lab at the Adelaide Medical School and give real-time feedback and instruction as they performed surgical procedures on 3D models in Japan.

    Researchers from Osaka Ӱֱ and the Ӱֱ of Adelaide have worked together to produce anew ultra-small silicon chipcalled a multiplexer, which is the key to the next generation of 6G communications and beyond.

    Young Japanese space enthusiasts haveremotely controlled space roversat the Ӱֱ of Adelaide’s Extraterrestrial Environmental Simulation () Lab from the TeNQ Space Museum in Tokyo.

    Professor Hirdy Miyamoto from the Ӱֱ of Tokyo is a world leader in planetary geoscience and led the event from Tokyo. Professor Miyamoto has also been a key contributor to the Ӱֱ of Adelaide’s Andy Thomas Centre for Space Resources’ education, research and outreach programs.

    “Building relationships between universities through events such as this demonstrates the global collaboration that is fundamental in realising humanities future in space, and enables people to experience elements of space operations that will one day be commonplace,” said Professor Miyamoto.
