Rear Admiral the Honourable Kevin Scarce AC CSC RAN (Rtd), 16th Chancellor of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide, has informed the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥â€™s Council that he will bring forward the end of his term as Chancellor to today, 4 May 2020.

Scientists discover proteins in rice vital for pollination

Scientists at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide and Shanghai Jiao Tong ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ in China have discovered two proteins in rice involved in pollen aperture formation which are essential in the successful pollination of flowering plants.

Their study, published in the Journal
, was undertaken to better understand the molecular control of plant pollen aperture formation in rice, with a view to acquiring new knowledge to improve cereal productivity and ultimately benefit global food security.
