Centre for Sustainable Operations and Resilient Supply Chains (CSORSC)

New Strategic Initiative at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide
The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide’s Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Resources (ISER) is thrilled and proudly announces the creation of the Centre for Sustainable Operations and Resilient Supply Chains (CSORSC). The Centre will launch in May 2024, headed by world-renowned supply chain researchers, Prof. Kannan Govindan and Assoc. Prof. Devika Kannan. These experts have had a transformational impact on supply chains across industries globally.Ìý In their new roles, theyÌýwillÌýbuild on ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s strong reputation within digitalisation and environmentally sustainable solutions. The initiative will establish resilient manufacturing systems, enabled by digital technologies to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing.
CSORSC’s holistic and integrated approach to supply chain management brings together advanced modelling, AI,Ìýbig data,Ìýmachine learning, engineering, policy, geopolitics, ethics, economics, and systems designÌýto develop end-to-end value chain solutions that minimise environmental impact and maximise competitiveness. These factors will build economically sustainable, resilient, and scalable manufacturing systems to enable production equipment reuse and extend product life. The Centre will help mobilise a new skilled workforceÌýcapable of sustaining advanced manufacturing in ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ÌýwhileÌýsupporting ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s economic and environmental welfare.Ìý
The new Centre will helpÌýmodernise supply chainsÌýas we move towards a circular economyÌýand net zero inÌýkey sectors, including critical minerals and mining, medical devices and products, agriculture and wine, clean energyÌý(hydrogen), defence, and space initiatives.Ìý
