Professors as Leaders
On 7 November 2018, the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide Academic Board unanimously endorsed the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s inaugural statement of expectations for ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide Professors.
Professors as Leaders acknowledges that a professor is someone whose performance and pre-eminence as a scholar of international standing has been recognised by the academy, and that maintaining the standing of the professoriate is dependent on professors continuing to be exemplary in their conduct and output.
The Staff Values and Behaviour Framework articulates and enshrines the principles that seek to shape the culture of our ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥. We all have a role to play in ensuring that the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥â€™s values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery form the bedrock of our culture.
As part of the implementation of the Framework, the Professors as Leaders statement has been amended and endorsed by the Academic Board to strengthen the connection between the role of professors and their responsibility to lead and embed the Framework.
Our professors’ academic expertise is widely acknowledged. The new Statement also emphasises their role in upholding the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥â€™s values and exemplifying the highest standard of ethical practice and integrity at all times.
