The Adelaide Law School was established in 1883, making it ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥â€™s second-most experienced law educator. Gain vast real-world experience
Adelaide Law School operates five free legal advice clinics for use by the local community, providing fantastic opportunities for you to sharpen your skills working on real legal matters in your final year of study. Places in these clinics are limited and are subject to an application process. These include the:
- Adelaide Legal Outreach Services, advising on child support, family matters, fines, contract issues, and criminal law
- Magistrates Court Legal Advice Service, assisting with minor civil disputes
- Equal Opportunity Commission Legal Advice, advising on discrimination, harassment and victimisation
- Entrepreneur and Venture Advice Clinic, providing legal support to individuals and small-to medium enterprises related to their businesses
And in all cases, you’ll work under the supervision of qualified solicitors.

Career prospects
Employment growth for the majority of law-related roles ranges broadly from moderate to very strong†.
Our Bachelor of Laws is accredited by the Legal Practitioners' Education and Admission Council in South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥; and provides the academic foundation for admission to legal practice throughout ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥. To be admitted to practice in ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥, however, you must complete further practical legal training. Our Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice satisfies this requirement.
Similarly, our criminology graduates work in settings such as the criminal justice system, policing, security, intelligence, corrections, court administration and welfare. Their unique expertise is instrumental in roles that involve policymaking, research, education or training.

After graduating, I pursued a career in legal practice with a top tier law firm and boutique commercial law firm across areas such as commercial litigation, corporate law and employment law, before moving into my current role as an Entrepreneur and owner of hospitality businesses. My Law degree has opened so many doors for me. I was invited to serve as Company Secretary on a medical research not-for-profit board, and also undertook a secondment in the banking and financial services sector. Studying Law also gave me the confidence to apply for a role as an editor at a publishing house, and I have later been able to merge that interest with my law studies, writing thought leadership pieces for law firms and articles for legal journals on a freelance basis
