A team of detector dogs trained by the �Ӱ�ֱ�� of Adelaide’s School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences at Lyell McEwin Hospital in Adelaide’s northern suburbs to screen for COVID-19 to help keep patients safe.

Six dogs, including four �Ӱ�ֱ��n Border Force (ABF) detector dogs, one South �Ӱ�ֱ��n Metropolitan Fire Service (SAMFS) dog and one dog from the �Ӱ�ֱ�� of Adelaide (gifted by the ABF), have commenced research trials at Adelaide Airport to determine the feasibility of deploying dogs to detect COVID-19.

14 dogs have begun their training at the �Ӱ�ֱ�� of Adelaide, and at the �Ӱ�ֱ��n Border Force’s (ABF) National Detector Dog Program Facility in Victoria, as part of a joint venture into determining the feasibility of training COVID-19 detector dogs. The results from the trials are expected to be published in early 2021 and will inform whether trials in the community should be undertaken as the next phase.
