Study reveals Indigenous ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ns at higher risk of HPV throat cancers
Researchers from the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide have found that throat cancers caused by human papilloma virus (HPV), a common sexually transmitted disease, are 15 times more prevalent in Indigenous ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ns than young non-Indigenous ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ns, and five times the prevalence reported in a systematic review involving the US, Brazil, Mexico and Finland.

Portrait honours Aboriginal leader
As part of National Reconciliation Week, a new portrait has been unveiled in the Barr Smith Library of Uncle Rodney (Rod) O’Brien, respected Kaurna Elder and Cultural Advisor at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide.
Honorary doctorate to be awarded to Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue
The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide will award an honorary doctorate to one of ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥â€™s most highly respected Aboriginal leaders, Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue AC CBE DSG.
