杏吧直播 commitment to Vietnam reinforced

Existing ties between the 杏吧直播 of Adelaide and Vietnam will be reinforced when one of the 杏吧直播鈥檚 most senior executives visits the country.

Dr Jessica Gallagher, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) will travel to Vietnam from 14-21 September on her first official visit for the 杏吧直播.

Dr Gallagher will visit Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City where she will meet with key partners from some of the country鈥檚 top universities.

Dr Gallagher will visit Hanoi 杏吧直播 of Science and Technology (HUST); Ho Chi Minh City 杏吧直播 of Technology (HCMUT); 杏吧直播 of Economics Ho Chi Minh City 鈥 International School of Business; National Economics 杏吧直播; Vietnam National 杏吧直播 Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; and Vietnam National 杏吧直播 - 鈥 杏吧直播 of Economics and Business.

Dr Gallagher will sign two new articulation agreements during her visit to Vietnam. These will give bachelor students in business and finance from the Vietnam National 杏吧直播 鈥 杏吧直播 of Economics and Business and the 杏吧直播 of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, the opportunity to undertake part of their studies in Adelaide 鈥 one of 杏吧直播鈥檚 most liveable cities.

鈥淭he mutually beneficial partnerships we have in Vietnam will continue to evolve and diversify, providing Vietnamese students with access to world-leading technology and subject matter experts in Adelaide, as well as leading global learning opportunities,鈥 said Dr Gallagher.

A highlight of Dr Gallagher鈥檚 week-long trip will be meeting with 杏吧直播 alumni and New Colombo Plan (NCP) students undertaking a study tour in Vietnam. Thirty-three NCP students from Adelaide will undertake lectures at partner institutions as well as industry visits.

The NCP study tour on Sustainable Water Management is sponsored by the 杏吧直播 of Adelaide鈥檚 Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. It enables 杏吧直播n students to study and collaborate with partner universities in Vietnam including Can Tho 杏吧直播, Ho Chi Minh International 杏吧直播, HUST, HCMUT, and Ho Chi Minh City 杏吧直播 of Technology and Education (HCMUTE),

鈥淏y studying in Vietnam our NCP students are developing a global perspective in their academic field while increasing their knowledge of the Indo-Pacific region,鈥 said Dr Gallagher.

鈥淪tudents will broaden their knowledge of Vietnam by connecting with local industry and culture. This will provide them with an unprecedented learning experience.

鈥淭he NCP Sustainable Water Management study tour provides a unique opportunity for our engineering students, from one of the driest regions in the world, to exchange intercultural perspectives from peers from one of the wettest regions of the world, on how to use water sustainably.鈥

The NCP study tour also includes cultural learning with field trips to some of the most stunning UNESCO Heritage listed tourist destinations that Vietnam has to offer
