New student hub for Roseworthy campus

A new space for students at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide’s ─ the Roseworthy Student Hub ─ is being officially opened today by the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥’s Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Warren Bebbington.

The Roseworthy Student Hub has been created within the Roseworthy campus’s main building, Roseworthy College Hall, using feedback from students about their needs for study and social space.

This is the fourth student hub built at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide since 2011, adding to Hub Central (the widely acclaimed student space at the heart of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥’s North Terrace campus), the Professions Hub at 10 Pulteney Street, and the Waite Hub at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥’s Waite campus.

“Our hubs are distinctive for the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide. They help students to interact informally with each other in small groups, the feature of our Small Group Discovery approach to university learning and teaching,” says Professor Bebbington.

“There is no doubt that our students appreciate the seven-day-a-week access to high quality and modern learning spaces and services.

“And it’s a pleasure to now add Roseworthy to our Hub list, for all our Animal Sciences and Veterinary Science students.”

The Roseworthy Student Hub contains informal student learning facilities, project rooms, computers, a student kitchen, the Adelaide ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Union shop, student services, and direct connection to the main dining hall.

The opening of Roseworthy Hub continues the implementation of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥’s strategy of creating world-class learning facilities for all of its students.

Roseworthy students will now be able to access informal learning spaces that are comparable to those available to students at North Terrace and Waite campuses.

The Hub has been incorporated into the beautiful heritage-listed Roseworthy College Hall which has been restored to its former glory over the past few years, including complete restoration of the building’s façade.
