Celebrating volunteers' commitment to Uni of Adelaide

The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide's today recognises the efforts of volunteers who support the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ each year.
Today (5 December) is International Volunteer Day and 2013 marks the 10th year since the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ established a formal program for volunteers.
The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ now has more than 2200 volunteers, who last year contributed over 145,000 hours of service to the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ community.
"We are indebted to the many volunteers who have given us their time," Professor Bebbington says.
"Our volunteers are motivated, educated and devoted to the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥, and I thank them for their outstanding efforts," he says.
The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s Director - Partnerships & Projects, , says the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide now has volunteers in 30 different programs across all campuses.
"This is a terrific demonstration of people's commitment to the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥," Mrs Grantham says. "We will continue to support our volunteer programs, which provide great benefits not only to the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ but also to the volunteers themselves."
The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide's community radio station, , has been running for more than 40 years thanks to the work of volunteers.
Today, Radio Adelaide has over 420 volunteer broadcasters, 10 of them aged in their 80s and 90s.
