Strengthening Global Collaboration: An American Quantum Educational Visit
IPAS was honoured to host a group of distinguished American academics for a pivotal quantum educational visit:
- Mo Hasanovic (EdQuantum, Indian River State College, FL)
- Jared Ashcroft (Micro Nano Technology Education Center, Pasadena City College, CA)
- Grant Emmel (Madison Area Technical College, WI)
This visit marked a significant step in fortifying global partnerships between ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n and US academics working in emerging fields such as quantum technologies, advanced manufacturing, and nanotechnologies. The group was particularly interested in understanding how ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ engages minorities and Indigenous people in these programs.
During their visit, the academics explored various labs at IPAS, including theÌýPhotonic Integrated Circuits lab led byÌý, theÌýCentre for Quantum Materials & Quantum Technologies led byÌý, the Centre of Light for Life led byÌý and Optofab Adelaide.
A special thank you to Angus Russell,ÌýBusiness Development Manager at the Department of State DevelopmentÌýSouth ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ and Piers Lincoln, IPAS Institute Manager, for facilitating this visit and helping to forge these valuable international connections.
This exchange is part of a broader effort to enhance training and workforce development in quantum and photonics industries, addressing critical workforce needs and fostering collaboration across borders.
