Dr Katharina Richter: MedTech Visionary and Women in MedTech Champion
Congratulations to Dr Katharina Richter on receiving the prestigious Women in MedTech Champion Award 2023 from the Medical Technology Association of ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ (MTAA).
As a distinguished leader in MedTech, Katharina's visionary contributions have earned her international acclaim, marked by over 40 awards, including MIT Innovator Under 35 Asia-Pacific and Prime Minister’s Prize for New Innovator finalist.
Known as a "Superbug Slayer," her groundbreaking research combating antibiotic-resistant bacteria has resulted in six innovative treatments, three of which are patented, offering hope against deadly infections. Leading a dedicated team of 8 researchers at the Richter Lab, Katharina focuses on improving medical therapies for patients suffering from superbug infections like surgical site infections, non-healing wounds, and implant infections.
Beyond her scientific achievements, Katharina actively champions gender diversity, serving as a role model and nurturing the next generation of MedTech leaders.
