Spend your afternoon at the Adelaide Zoo this World Wildlife Day with wildlife crime experts, member and head of the Wildlife Crime Research Hub at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide, Professor Phill Cassey, and ,Ìýan international environmental leader with a well established career in law, policy, and conservation.

Together, they will explore the critical issue of illegal wildlife trade, the multi-billion-dollar industry, that thrives on demand for exotic pets, traditional medicine, luxury goods, and trophies. Weak laws, corruption, and poor enforcement enable trafficking, while habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict drive poaching. Online platforms further fuel illegal trade, complicating enforcement. Despite these challenges, efforts to combat wildlife trafficking continue to make an impact.
