Publication from the Heat and Habitat in Cities Symposium features Professor Veronica Soebarto

The Environment Institute was proud to support theÌýHeat and Habitat in Cities Symposium late in 2019.


The event was held at theÌýNational Wine Centre on theÌý9 - 10 December, 2019 and hosted by the School of atÌýthe ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide.

The Heat and Habitat in Cities Symposium brought together international and national experts, policy makers, planners, designers and researchers to exchange knowledge, experience and expertise andÌýto discuss and debate concrete ideas for planning, designing, developing and improving our cities. It was wasÌýopened by The Honourable David Speirs MP, Minister for Environment and Water.

After a long delay due to circumstances around COVID-19, the published summary of the presentations at the Symposium are . It covers topics on:

  1. Advanced in urban microclimate

  2. Urban green and public spaces

  3. Buildings, behaviour and energy use

  4. Innovative technologies and systems

  5. Progressive policies


A number of case studies reflecting some of the latest works in the areas are also presented.
