Dr Tobler is part of a team of researchers working on the Aboriginal Heritage ProjectÌýwhich aims to reconstruct the genetic history of Aboriginal communities using ground-breaking techniques.

The project uses specimens and recordsÌýcollected through anthropological studies undertaken between the 1920s and 1970s to connect information derived from DNA in hair strands with details of family, culture and lineage.
