A new paper titled '' investigates shark behaviour and movement patterns in relation to thermoregulation and water temperature.
The paper suggests that reef shark movements are influenced by water temperature and provides support for behavioural thermoregulation theories. This data is important for predicting how sharks might be affected by climate change and other human modifications to water temperature.
The paper involves Environment Institute member as well as Conrad Speed (Charles Darwin ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥), Mark Meekan (ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Institute of Marine Science), Iain Field (Macquarie ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥) and Clive McMahon (Charles Darwin ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥) and has been published in Marine Ecology Progress Series.
