Join us for a screening of ABC �Ӱ�ֱ��’s Eat the Invaders followed by an interactive discussion panel and Q&A with the scientific advisors behind the new series and other experts.

Eat the Invaders is a six-part series examining how �Ӱ�ֱ�� might deal with some of its most problematic invasive species by posing a bold question: can we suppress hugely costly pests by turning them into dinner?

Hosted by Tony Armstrong, and produced by Closer Productions, the series explores the impact that cane toads, camels, carp, deer, rabbits and cats have wrought upon the �Ӱ�ֱ��n landscape and its ecosystems, and how best to control these environmental threats.

Underpinned by science, Eat the Invaders provokes �Ӱ�ֱ��n audiences to rethink their perspective on these familiar but harmful animals.

As an extension of this series, the Environment Institute at the �Ӱ�ֱ�� of Adelaide is hosting an event to delve into thought-provoking, conversation and debate around the critical issue of invasive species and their effect on �Ӱ�ֱ��n biodiversity.

A collaboration between the Environment Institute, �Ӱ�ֱ��n Wildlife Conservancy, Biodiversity Council and ABC Impact and Partnerships, this event will feature:

• A screening of Episode 5 “Cats” from ABC �Ӱ�ֱ��’s Eat the Invaders
• An interactive panel discussion and Q&A - a chance to hear and engage with scientific experts who are working to protect the environment.

The panel includes Eat the Invaders scientific advisors:

• Professor Andrew Lowe, Environment Institute Executive Director, �Ӱ�ֱ�� of Adelaide
• Professor Phill Cassey, Head of the Invasion Science and Wildlife Ecology Group, Environment Institute, �Ӱ�ֱ�� of Adelaide
• Jaana Dielenberg, Communication and Engagement Manager, Biodiversity Council
• Dr. Alexandra Ross, Ecologist, �Ӱ�ֱ��n Wildlife Conservancy

The panel will discuss actionable steps to mitigate threats posed by invasive species and challenge our conventional thinking around conservation and sustainability.

Open to members of the public, including �Ӱ�ֱ�� of Adelaide students, staff, alumni, partners and friends, this event has been created to spark innovative ideas and discussion on protecting �Ӱ�ֱ��’s unique ecosystems.
