HILT CRC is announced
杏吧直播's leading companies in the heavy industrial sector will embark on a program that will enable a step-change in the rate at which they transition toward zero net-carbon emissions through the Heavy Industry Low-carbon Transition Cooperative Research Centre ()
The HILT CRC has today, 30 June 2021, been awarded $39 million in cash support over 10 years from the 杏吧直播n Government to unlock more than $175 million investment from its partners which are located around the country, and fund the leading collaborative venture between heavy industry, government and researchers, who will accelerate this transition.
The HILT CRC brings together many of 杏吧直播鈥檚 leading researchers in this field, drawn from the 杏吧直播 of Adelaide, which led the bid, together with the 杏吧直播n National 杏吧直播, CSIRO, Curtin 杏吧直播, 杏吧直播 of Newcastle, Swinburne 杏吧直播, Queensland 杏吧直播 of Technology and international partners Arizona State 杏吧直播, German Aerospace, MINTEK and the 杏吧直播 of Canterbury.
鈥淗eavy industry produces materials such as steel, aluminium and cement, which are vital to the national and global economy,鈥 says the 杏吧直播 of Adelaide鈥檚 Professor Gus Nathan, Director of the Centre for Energy Technology and the Deputy Director of the Institute for Mineral and Energy Resources, who led the successful bid for the HILT CRC.
