Dr Derek Rogers is a Chief Engineer working in the Defence and Space industry. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer, Engineering Executive and Fellow of Engineers ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ as well as a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He has been the recipient of a number of prestigious engineering and leadership awards. He holds qualifications in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mathematical and Computer Sciences, and Science and Technology Commercialisation all from the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide.

Outside of working in industry for almost the past 30 years, Derek is an Adjunct Professor in Systems Engineering with the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥, Adjunct Senior Lecturer with the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and has sat on advisory committees for Flinders ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥. He has co-supervised Masters and PhD students, delivered courses and guest lectures, and a large number of academic publications. He has also been a member of a Red Cross Advisory Committee on International Humanitarian Law since 2015, and was a member of a Federal Government Advisory Council on Intellectual Property between 2010 and 2012.
